Blazzin The Way: A Homegrown Legacy Continues at the Ruby Buckle Futurity
For Brittany Pozzi Tonozzi, the win at the 2026 Ruby Buckle Central Futurity meant more than just another title.
Aboard Blazzin The Way — better known as “Fireball” — Brittany captured the Futurity Championship in Guthrie, Oklahoma, adding another unforgettable chapter to a program built from generations of intentional breeding, patience, and horsemanship. The pair clocked two incredibly consistent runs to win the average against some of the industry’s toughest futurity competition.
What makes the story even more special is that Fireball is entirely homegrown. Bred, raised, and developed through the Tonozzi breeding program, he represents years of carefully preserving bloodlines that have already shaped the barrel racing industry.
Fireball is by the legendary Blazin Jetolena and out of Ima Famous Babe, better known as “Katniss,” one of Brittany’s most iconic mares and a cornerstone of the ZZI program. Katniss left an undeniable mark on the industry before her passing in 2022, and now her legacy is continuing through one of her most exciting sons.
Even more significant, Blazzin The Way became just the second Ruby Buckle stallion to win the Ruby Buckle Futurity — an accomplishment that further solidifies his place as an emerging force in both the arena and the breeding shed. As a Ruby Buckle enrolled stallion himself, Fireball is already proving he belongs among the next generation of elite sires.
Brittany has often spoken about wanting to carry forward the traits she loved most in her horses: trainability, consistency, grit, and longevity. Fireball appears to embody all of it. From his natural style to his easy-going demeanor, he’s quickly becoming the kind of horse people remember long after the checks are handed out.
Behind the scenes, Brittany keeps Fireball on a consistent support program to help him feel and perform his best throughout the futurity season. Daily supplements in his routine include Muscle X, Oxy Lox, Immune, Gut Advantage, Mag-Max and E-Charge powder. His pre-race routine typically includes Triple Threat & Race X. Post-run, he’s supported with an E-Charge paste as part of his recovery program.
What stands out most about Fireball’s story is that this win wasn’t built overnight. It’s the result of decades of investing in mares, believing in bloodlines, and developing horses the right way. From Streakin Six Babe to Katniss and now Blazzin The Way, the ZZI program continues to produce horses capable of competing — and winning — at the highest level.
And if the 2026 Ruby Buckle Futurity was any indication, Fireball’s story is only getting started.
